Hello, hello!
Our big news for the week is that we got a new printer for school. The two printers we had were at least ten years old and they are the kind that draw it out line by line and make that awful noise. They also broke every other day or so and it took about five minutes per page. We were at the Thai mall and Justin found a laser printer that was on clearance for 1400 baht (about $45) so we bought it. We had to carry it back on the motorbike in the rain and we looked pretty silly. But we figured it would help us fit in if we started carrying oversized loads on the bike since we usually see Thai people with four to a motorbike plus usually holding a table and chairs or something of the sort.
We thought the printer might be broke because it was so cheap and already opened, but it works perfectly! The school decided to buy it from us which was a good deal for us. So now we can print anything without the loud noise and waiting five minutes/ page. It's all very exciting.
This weekend we stayed in Surat. Saturday we worked on building a garden out front. We drove on our motorbike to the nursery and drove back with four giant trees and then we went back again for four big old pots. All the stuff was really cheap, big trees are about $8 and big pots are $2. We also moved furniture around and made the upstairs second bedroom into a tv room with couches and trees. Here is a pictures of it.
Oh and the other big project was Justin breaking the bathroom sink. It was leaking and he was trying to fix it when it fell and broke. So we went and bought a new one and Justin installed it with much help from the little Thai men at the hardware store across the street.
Saturday we also played Badminton with two other teachers, Keysa and David, at the stadium where everyone goes to work out and play. And Sunday night we ate dinner again with the doctor and P'Nong from work. As always it was very delicious.
Also! We decided to go to Chaing Mai this break instead of Cambodia. They both seem really nice, but we wanted to do more hiking and we also thought it would be good for our first big trip to go some where they speak Thai.
Camp went really well last week after a bit of a bumpy start. Justin and I started a camp fire section at the beginning of camp with all the classes where we sing songs and do a little game to warm up. We made a fake little campfire as well.
This is a picture of Justin in his monk get up he got from the Thai wal-mart.
Hope everyone is well! Miss you all!!
