I forgot to mention this, but the Queen's older sister died on January 2 and so the whole country's in mourning for 100 days. Justin and I could only wear black, white, and/or gray for 15 days and a lot of people do it for the whole 100 days. Also a bunch of giant bilboards with pictures of her went up and there are a bunch of mourning programs on the tea dedicated to her life.
I was also wondering today if the King is really careful about promoting or using in public products like a particular brand of camera or type of shoe. If he did I'm sure a huge number of people would go and buy it. He wore a pink suit after he got out of the hospital and the next week everyone had pink King shirts. just a ponder.
Thanks for the comments. Questions are always great!!
Oh and so you know Justin's farewell of kisses and arms is from when I was in Peru and signed my emails besos y brazos which I meant to mean kisses and hugs but when he put it into a translator online came out kisses and arms (abrazos is hugs I believe) so know that's the name of his next album.
Alrighty!! talk to you soon!

aleza...i thought it was the king's older sister that had died...what ever will happen when the king dies if this much mourning follows the queen's sister???? sure hope you 2 are long gone by then. had your mom and dad over for a thai dinner last night and just had a great time catching up with them. jess, kai, julia and mary are coming for a thai dinner tonight. finally had my 1st full night's sleep last night - our 12th night back. miss you...jan
Sorry, it was his older sister. Thanks for catching that. Jan, what are you cooking for the Thai food?
Kaley- Hi!! Thanks for the comment!! I'll write you an email soon!
Hi Justin and Aleza:
We've been looking through all of our atlases (atlai?) about a route from Thailand to India and it looks like there are two (one long one -- up through Laos to China, past Dali, then over through Tibet to Lhasa and back south between Nepal and Bhutan to the little tongue of India--the other a bit shorter up through Laos, into China then around Burma and right back down into the section of India between Burma and Bhutan. There is a road through that pass that follows the headwaters of the Brahmaputra River through the mountains (actually hills compared to the route through Tibet). Then the road follows the river down into India and you will be south of the Himalayas, but could meet up with Nina from the south back into Nepal or just in India. In theory, you could make a loop by taking the northern route to Tibet first earlier in the season--Early October and return the southern way in early November. I really don't think you can plan on driving in any of the mountainous areas later than that. In fact, you may be looking at the monsoon season south of the Himalayas, which will be much more powerful than it is in Thailand. Anyhow, just a few random thoughts that are not to be construed as parental approval! We love you and miss you.
