Hello!!
So now that we have the car we've been going on more short weekend trips which is really really nice. We had one weekend a few weeks back where we stayed in town and we were pretty board and unhappy. So I think we'll try to get away at least every other weekend.
So two weekend ago we went for a day trip to Khanom with David, his gf Jennifer, and Andrea. It was super fun. We hung out on the beach, ate delicious food, and went to a small waterfall. Here are some pictures from the day.
Here's the view from the top of the mountain near Khanom.

We went to Khao Sok this weekend. It was very fun. We left on Sunday morning. Sunday we swam in the river and swung from a rope swing. Sunday night though we were hanging out in our bungalow and justin went outside and there was a guy standing just outside our door in the dark. Justin said hello and the guy just quietly walked down the stairs. He was a Thai guy with no shirt. We have no idea what his deal was. We're not sure if he was spying on us or if he was going to try to break in or if he was drunk or something and conjused. Anywas it was creepy and I don't think we'll stay at that bungalow again.
This is the view from our tree top bungalow. Lots of bamboo.
Monday morning we got up earlier and took a hike to a waterfall through the jungle. It was pretty fun. Here are some pictures from the hike.
Waterfall!
In other news I went on a morning walk with Lek who runs the Mathus office more or less. We stopped and fed some monks. It was very interesting. In the morning they have to walk barefoot to find food. You're supposed to give them a full meal: water, rice, a main dish, and dessert. Then when you see one you take off your shoes and kneel with your food. You put it in his bowl without touching him and then kneel again and wait while he says a blessing for you.
Alrighty! That's all the news for now! Hope to hear from you all soon!!

hey guys....so good to hear from your blog - and really happy that you're able to get away for a trip whenever you feel like it. hope the car continues to run well and take you on many fun and exciting adventures. really nice to see pictures of all of you at the beach at our favorite place, sand terrace. as always...i just want to be right there with you :) how is jennifer adjusting to everything new? what bungalow were you staying at in kao sok? that did sound creepy. thanks for keeping us in your loop, and continue having the experience of a lifetime there in thailand...love, jan
Hi Justin & Aleza!
Your mom and dad (Jan & Dan) sent me (Marti’s friend, in particular, & family friend, in general) your blog info in a X'mas greeting. I have really enjoyed checking out the blog and looking at your pictures. Looks like you're having quite an adventure! I love to travel, but I'm sure I'll never make it to Thailand--It doesn't exactly look wheelchair accessible!--so it's a true vicarious pleasure for me to see what you're up to. Be safe and don't leave any stone unturned!
Sheila
Mental note to self: move to tropical paradise.
I don't know about Jon, but I approve of Justice, though the whole religious angle kind of freaks me out. Definitely will be used in my next party mix, though.
