Hello again. I hope everything is well. Here's the scoop on the latest Thailand developments (Henceforth: "Thai-velopments"):
1.) I made a guitar strap from an old belt. I can now walk the streets of Surat with my 6-string. Between my new short-shorts and the walking-while-playing-guitar-and-singing, all of my neighbors are convinced that I'm crazy or a drug-addict.
2.) I now work at the same crummy school I worked at last term. Aleza works 4 hours (!) a week at a newly contracted High School. My students range from unfriendly, troublesome, to outright criminal. They've (once) walked out in the middle of class (!) and they would not come back. Another day, I'm entirely sure they were all drunk. 8th grade...
I mentioned to the homeroom teacher, jokingly, that they were all drunk. "Yes, I think maybe you are right... I saw one student with a bottle of beer this morning...?"
/sigh
3.) We are now going to travel to Bulgaria. I'm sick of Asia and I want some beer and sausages. Bread. Mmmmm, snow maybe? Also Spain now (Walking an ancient Catholic pilgrimage trail -
Camino Del Santiago), and maybe Greece and Croatia, Slovenia too... Wish us luck.
4.)I've been reading up on the methods of "dressing" (gutting!) a deer. Me and Aleza made a "To Do By 30" list, and I think catching, cleaning, eating a deer is gonna be on mine. Any hunters out there? Bring me along next time, OK?
4.) Things are going really well though. It's cooler now, cooler than Illinois (yay!). Rains in the day, chilly at night.
5.) That might be it for now - Thanks to Aidan for the comment - our readership is officially up to five now! Spread the word!

Hi Justin and Aleza! Loved your new blog, sorry about the drunk 8th graders. Sausages, beer, and bread! What else is on your top 30 to-do list? Eating a deer is not my idea of fun, I've made it 60 years without once wishing I'd stopped more during my life to smell the ... dead deer. But let us know what else is on your list. Aidan's blog entry was great, I think he must be bored at his last days at work. I have one (!!!) more day of writing on my book(!) Then a lot of little stuff, but we're having a deck party for the first Sunset Concert on Thursday. The old Mellow Fellows (now the Chicago Rhythm and Blues Kings). Then Friday, I'm driving up to Wisconsin to see Grandma and Grandpa and Larry, then Saturday back to Chicago to pick up Mom from the train from Carbondale at 1 in the afternoon and we're gonna ride our bikes all around the lake front all day and Irish Pub-hop all night. Can't wait, wish you two were here with us to do exactly that! We love you and miss you both and hope that your summer shapes up to be a great one! Try to enjoy every last thing you can find to do before you're done in Thailand. Love, Dad
