The beginning

I'm creating this blog to keep people updated on our move to Thailand on September 5th.

We're going to Surat Thani which is in the South. It's about 45 min from the beach on a river delta. The city has about 100,000 people.

We're teaching English at Mathus Language Academy to mostly elementary and high school students. It's a private school where the kids come after their regular classes. It's owned by a Thai couple who the employees say our really nice.

We'll write more once we're there. For now we're getting VISA stuff ready, immunizations, etc. If anyone has any advice for us we'd love to hear it!

Aleza (and Justin)!!! I can't believe you are teaching in Thailand that is amazing. You will love it - Thailand is my favourite country in the entire world, and I have been to a lot! Anyway, my advice is to get a Thai Massage, and also to eat lots of delicious Thai food. I can think of nothing bad about Thailand!

Have fun!

We are so excited that you two are off to Thailand! What a great adventure! I can't think of any two people who would be better suited to exploring, teaching in, learning about, and having fun in Thailand. We'll miss you two terribly but we will come and visit. We wish you the very best of everything for your year in Thailand. We'll check this blog all the time to see how you two are doing. Love,

Justin and Aleza
I called Jan this morning (9-6-07 US)to see how she was faring and to hear if you two had the chance to get your ground legs back yet. The info I got was that Jan will survive and you had a safe landing in Bangkok but still more travel in store until your final destination. Halfway around the world is kinda far, isn't it? What a way to start the "adult" part of your lives! I'm proud of you, happy for you, excited for you, etc.!!!!! Both of you!
Thanks for creating this blog, Aleza....Drags me into the future.
Take care of each other---I always knew you two would make a great couple. Enjoy every minute.
