Swatdeeka! It's Aleza again. I'm still pestering Justin to write in here, but it hasn't worked so far.
It's Wednesday now. This week we aren't teaching at all, but are preparing for camp which is the next two weeks (Oct 8th - 19th). Camp is pretty similar to regular classes. We teach the kids for 3hrs each day in the classroom. It's science themed so each day is a different theme: weather, solar system, human body, etc. I'm teaching the youngest kids (4 -6) and Justin is teaching the oldest (~11 and up to high school). So this whole week we are lesson planning for the next two weeks. After camp we have 9 days off from the 19th - 28th for paid vacation. I think this is both of our first paid vacation. We're thinking of going to Cambodia, if anyone has any ideas about where to go.
Oh and Dan told me to tell everyone how to post comments. You click on the word 'comments' to post a comment, and then click on 'sign up here' to get a Google account, and then click on 'publish your comment' to finally post a comment. Hope that helps everyone.
This last weekend we went to the mountain park right outside of town. We drove on our new motorcycle!! Here's what it looks like.
It's a Suzuki that we bought off an old teacher.
The park was really interesting. You get a nice view of the city.
There were also a bunch of monkeys there. It was kind of sad to see them. These are the baby monkeys.
They do some neat acrobatic routines. I'll try to put up the video of them.
On Monday we also went to this little island park in the river here. It reminds Justin of the emeryville marina mixed with the Carbondale lake. There's about a mile loop you can do of the island and there's lots of funny weight machines without the weights. It looks like a grown up playground. Here are some pictures from the island.
Well it's time to get to work. Dan we'll answer the questions you posted in the next post. Warm wishes to all!

hey kids....the motorbike looks like it's been really well cared for... it's bigger than i had imagined. what a fun thing to explore the area on. but BE CAREFUL !!! are all the monkeys caged?? that would be sad to see them cooped up. i wonder why they can't be free?? we were wondering if the thai food we've been eating at thai taste is representative of the food you've been eating there??? i got a great dish the other night....sauteed-sliced beef in oyster sauce with green onion, shitake mushrooms and green pepper...a real smoky flavor - delish. still in the upper 80s here..but not as humid - yeah!! it's siu homecoming this weekend...so will go to the parade and then to the alumni tent for food and free beer - love that tradition. come on people...let's give aleza and justin some feedback on their blogging efforts...they need to hear from you :) love, jan
Okay - I'm not sure if the comment i did a few weeks ago got published, as I didn't sign up for a Google account then. Still working on my computer literacy. So now I have an account and they said my password strength was "strong" - yippee! So, I'm partly responding to Jan's encouragement. Of course, I think your blog is awesome. I told Lynne Edmondson, I'm amazed to be related to someone who has such a cool blog and is able to do all these things on the computer. Lynne thought your blog was awesome, also. We bookmarked it on her laptop. I, naturally, second Jan's admonition to BE CAREFUL on the motorbike, although, I also agree it looks well cared for. Also was sad to see the monkeys caged. Is it like a zoo, or more like seaworld, but with monkeys?
We ate at a Thai restaurant in Huntsville. Very yummy. I had a warm chicken salad with peanut sauce; odd but good. Paul had a spicy beef dish with onions, can't remember what it was called. It came with a chunk of cabbage and some romaine lettuce on the side. The waitress said you could use the cabbage to scoop up the sauce.
Has Justin tried cooking any of the food you've had at restaurants or at the Doctor's house?
Well, enough questions for now. Make sure wherever you go on your vacation is safe. Will call you soon. Love, Jill.
